wk 2 - skipping and recording

This week was so busy i missed the dance classes during the day as well as in the evening. Little dancing except for the usual Empire night on the Friday - which was strangely quiet. In terms of the dancing i practiced with my usual salsa partner, and then dancing with lots of non-usual dancers on the floor. It was enjoyable though i felt i had to be alert to who i was dancing with, when i'd danced with them last and what type of moves they liked and were able to do.

I've done a lot of research interviewing in the evenings, and that has pulled out interesting points about dancers, and fleshed out people who i'd only really known in passing or danced with briefly, as dance friends.

Saturday was a church hall tea dance in the evening - advertised as a cheaper version of a Valentine's night. it was mostly for the church members and i was given a conversion talk ... they were fine about the ballroom and lindy and jive dances, though i'd wonder how supportive they'd be with dances like salsa? Is this a less acceptable dance? Some of my dance friends have to cover up this dancing aspect of their lives.

Sunday - back in the performance room but working on a dance choreography. intense and under pressure but very enjoyable, though the next day i'll be back in the same room lecturing!!
