wk 3 - a wedding dancer?!

this week after the classes we had an outing to Ceroc in the Belfast Boat Club.  I was surprised to see so many old faces - from the jive classes i first taught in Queen's 5 years ago.  They have all been keeping up with the dancing whilst i fell away from the ceroc and moved into the salsa scene - perhaps more public and open as a dance world.

In the lessons, i was impressed by the level of instruction, clarity and comfort space created.  the numbers have increased since it started here in NI a few years ago.  i found it very structured in terms of the movements, and i was corrected - vigorously - if/when i got them 'wrong' or tried to do it slightly differently.  as soon as the music started i found myself moving a lot more and wanting to do more than the ceroc moves or to add my own embellishments to them.

later on in the week - the Empire.  It was crowded, and after a practice with a friend, it felt claustrophobic and a bit wild - in an unpleasant sense!
The Wedding Dancers - a new film?

Saturday i auditioned with a dance friend of the past and we start practising a wedding dance routine.  the routines will be good materials to hold onto as a lead, and the training will reinforce some new parts to the following dances for me: waltz, quickstep, chacha and salsa.  i feel that we gel creatively and with a love of the dancing rather than a love of being seen dancing.

A Wedding Dancer ? Any chance there is a wedding associated with all this effort ?
